1. Fun-Plex Waterpark & Rides

If you’re looking to have an exciting day of family fun while cooling down from the summer heat, Fun-Plex is calling your name. This park offers a wide array of activities including a wave pool, lazy river, water slides, roller coasters, and mini golf.

2. Falconwood Park Drive-In Theater

Feeling nostalgic for the good ole days of drive in movie theaters? You’re in luck as Falconwood Park offers outdoor movies all summer long. Falconwood shows a variety of movies throughout the summer and showtimes can be found on their website.

3. Omaha Zoo

Spend a warm summer day with the animals at the Omaha Zoo. Widely regarded as one of the best zoos in America, the Omaha Zoo is a massive 160 acre space with plenty of exhibits. Take a look at the upcoming events that are taking place at the zoo this summer, including the unique experience of doing yoga in the aquarium.

4. Omaha Summer Arts Festival

Catch some sun while checking out the Omaha Summer Arts Festival. The festival is the largest in Nebraska, featuring 135 of the nation’s finest visual artists, a stage of continuous musical performances, and a hands-on children’s fair.

5. Jazz on the Green

Great music and warm summer nights go together perfectly. This summer at Turner Park you can check out some awesome live jazz music. Better yet, it’s completely free and open to the public.

6. Grab Dinner and Take a Stroll in the Old Market Neighborhood

Take advantage of the awesome weather by heading downtown and enjoy the sights and sounds of the historic Old Market Neighborhood. Some of Omaha’s best restaurants are located in this beautiful part of town, and there’s a number of different walking tours and historical guides to enjoy if you want to make a day of it.

7. College World Series of Baseball

Spend the day watching America’s favorite pastime this summer by checking out the College World Series at TD Ameritrade Park. Every summer, the best college teams in the country come to Omaha to crown a champion. There is also a fan festival that takes place in coordination with the World Series that has tons of free events for fans to enjoy.

8. Go Hiking at Platte River State Park

Grab a canteen, pack a lunch, and head 30 miles southeast of town for a hike at  Platte River State Park. The area is beautiful and features numerous trails to explore. The waterfall trail is an excellent option for nature lovers.

9. River City Star Riverboat

River City Star Riverboat Cruises offer passengers the unique experience of exploring the river on a stylish 1940’s era boat. One of the cool things about River City Star is that they have themed cruises such as Reggae, 70s, and Tiki.
